COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Virginian Review is joining forces with the Alleghany Highlands Christmas Mother to gather lap blankets for individuals and families in need this holiday season.
Community members are invited to contribute new lap blankets, which will be distributed through the Christmas Mother program. Donations can be dropped off at the Virginian Review office, located at 229 W. Main Street, during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We’re proud to support an effort that brings comfort to so many during the winter months,” said Carla Bowles of the Virginian Review. “A lap blanket may seem small, but it can mean a lot to someone facing a tough time. We hope the community will respond with generosity and compassion.”
The drive aims to provide warmth and care to local residents as part of the season of giving.
The Virginian Review’s collection drive will continue through Thursday, December 4.
