Beverly West

Susie Ann Beverly West, age 76, of 212 Railroad Avenue, Iron Gate, Virginia died on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

Susie was born on February 11, 1949 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late Paul David Beverly, Sr. and Alice Mae Godfrey Beverly.  She worked in the dietary department of the Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital and Alleghany Regional Hospital, retiring after 42 years.  She was a member of Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ. She enjoyed crochet, but her three loves were Thomas West, Betty Booth, and Lady Rita.

In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Eugene Beverly and Norman Bruce Beverly, and two sisters, Gloria Beverly and Alice Nadine Beverly.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward West of Iron Gate; a daughter, Rhonda West (fiancé Jeff Patterson) of Roanoke; a son, Thomas E. “T.J.” West, Jr. (Ruby) of Tampa, FL;; six brothers, Paul David Beverly, Jr. (Ellen Lucille) of Clifton Forge, John Beverly, Sr. of Clifton Forge, Melvin Monroe Beverly of Wynne, AK, Curtis Jeffrey Beverly (Virginia) of Iron Gate, Michael Beverly (Loren) of Iron Gate, and Claude Beverly of Iron Gate; 3 step children, Janique, Jessika, and Jeff, Jr.;10 grandchildren, Javandre, Jaheem, Jehlonni, Jaysyir, Jakhi, Jahlyil, Jahliek, Rose, Avi, and Harper; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Daniel Hammond officiating.  Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.  The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
