Mikel Bright “Mickey” McMillion, Jr.

Mikel Bright “Mickey” McMillion, Jr., age 96, of 609 Pine Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by family at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Mickey was born on April 3, 1929 in Ronceverte, West Virginia to the late Mikel Bright McMillion, Sr. and Madeline Bertha Dillion McMillion. He was a retired Bridge and Building Foreman for CSX Transportation with over 45 years of service, and was a faithful member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, where he volunteered his time in helping with the clothes closet, cleaning, and yardwork.

In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Kathleen Marie Taylor McMillion; two sons, Charles M. McMillion of Hopewell and Gerald L. McMillion of Salem; sisters and brothers, Alice Virginia McCutcheon, Lawrence McMillion, Ida Laura Smothers, and Franklin McMillion; and a great grandson, Matthew Charles McMillion.

He is survived by two daughters, Janet Anglin (husband, Larry Anglin, Sr.) and Kathie McMillion-Helms, both of Covington; two sons, Kenneth F. Hilbert (wife, Libbie) of Staunton and Darryl P. McMillion of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Edith Stamm of Albuquerque, NM, Doris Young of Pensacola, FL, and Grace Flowers of Clinton, MD; two brothers, James McMillion of Salem, AL and Harold McMillion of Sinks Grove, WV; three granddaughters, Angela McMillion Roth (late husband, Doug Roth) of Richmond, Charlene McMillion of Hopewell, and Tammy McMillion Studley (husband, Greg) of Petersburg; three grandsons, Larry W. Anglin, Jr. (fiancée, Pam Jones) of Covington, Jeff McMillion (wife, Teresa) of Troutville, and Jamie Helms (wife, Mallory) of Richmond; twelve great grandchildren, Megan Haughn (husband, Tanner), Madison Roth, Hannah McMillion, Sierra Peterson (spouse, Hannah), Koedi Anglin, Autumn Studley, Garrett McMillion, Liam McMillion, Josh Anglin, Melrose Roth, Ashton McMillion, and Brantley McMillion; two great great grandchildren, Maverick McMillion and Ella Peterson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church in Clifton Forge with Pastor Chris Fisher officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.  Pallbearers will be Larry Anglin, Jr., Jeff McMillion, Jamie Helms, Josh Anglin, Garrett McMillion, and Ashton McMillion. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, 544 Church St, Clifton Forge, VA  24422.
