The Pink Ribbon Golf Classic was held on Saturday, June 1, at Cliff View Golf Club.
Ten teams participated in the four-person captain’s choice event.
Team captains included Dwain Tyree, Tony Taylor, Roy Redmon, Mark Pifer, Gene Lee, Adam Tingler, Dean Sexton, Shannon Brantley, Michael Kessinger and Joe Jackson.
The team of Gene Lee, Mike Neighbors, Greg Vess and Fred Holley won the tournament with a 17-under-par 55.
Individual prize winners included Stephanie Lytle (long drive for women), Tony Taylor (long drive for men), Jerome Johnson (closest to the pin) and Austin Looney (door prize winner).
Hole-in-one prizes, including $10,000 for an ace on the 16th hole, were sponsored by Randy Perkins of Virginia Farm Bureau.
The Cat & Owl donated the door prize, while Ingevity sponsored a team of four players.
Hole sponsors included:

• Premium Sponsor: Highlands Community Bank;
• Pink Ribbon Sponsors: Bess Video Productions, Loving Funeral Home and Janie Tyree at B.A. Rupert Real Estate;
• Pink Tee Sponsors: A Fresh Cut Above Flowers, Harry and Jean Casey, Priscilla and Richard Downer, Cucci’s Pizzeria and Mark Brackenridge with J&K Electric.
Gift certificates were donated by the following golf courses: The Greenbrier, The Omni Homestead, Shenvalee Golf Resort, Hanging Rock Golf Club, Ashley Plantation, Cliff View Golf Club, The Westlake and Fountain Springs Golf Course.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used for the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure in Boston, September 6-8. Charity Hale will be participating in the event — a 60 mile in three day walk. It will be the fifth walk for Hale, who also participated in Philadelphia (2015), Dallas (2016), San Diego (2017) and Atlanta (2018).
“We want to thank the hole sponsors, volunteers, golfers and contributing businesses and individuals,” said Hale. “We want to make this an annual fundraiser in honor of breast cancer awareness and research.”
