Dear Editor,

Abortion is still legal in our state.  October 5 is a Life Chain Day in Alleghany Highlands.  This is a silent, prayerful, public, pro-life witness to the sanctity of unborn human life (babies).   The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. and end at 2:45 p.m. on the sidewalks at the traffic light at the turn-in to Walmart in Covington.  Bring a chair if you feel you need to sit while praying.  Please call my husband John for more details at 862-1917.  Anyone is, and all are, invited to participate, including church youth groups and families.  Should it rain hard on October 5, the Life Chain will be delayed by one week and take place on October 12.

Thank you.
