The Town of Iron Gate has a part-time position open for a Public Work Employee-Level 1 (laborer). Interested candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Virginia Operator’s License. Duties include: operating the Town vehicle- with or without the dump trailer, operating mowing equipment including riding mowers, push mowers and weed trimmers. Capable of using different types of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, valve wrenches. Picking up garbage and operating the controls on the back of the packer. Must be able to identify water valve cut offs, identify sewer manholes, direction of flows and water line maps. The rate of pay starts at $12.41 with no benefits. Any interested candidate may come by Iron Gate Town Hall for an application, Mon-Wed-Fri from 10:00am- 3:00pm. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
