BATH COUNTY, Va. (VR) – On Saturday evening, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources received a report of a boat crash on Lake Moomaw. A vessel with four occupants, including the operator, struck an island in the lake causing the boat to capsize and all occupants to be ejected from the vessel. All four occupants received varying levels of injury – from minor to serious, but no life-threatening injuries. The vessel did have night navigation lights on. Alcohol is not currently being considered a contributing factor in the crash. No one on the vessel was wearing a life jacket. No further information is available at this time.
