COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Just in time for the highly anticipated Streetscene Festival and the arrival of the VA250 Mobile Museum on Friday August 9, 2025, Olde Town Covington, Inc., is proud to unveil a new exhibit in the Alley Gallery featuring patriotic artwork created by local students.

This special showcase presents entries from the recent “America the Beautiful” Art Contest, a community project inspired and developed by Marian Paxton of the VFW Auxiliary. Marian’s vision was to engage young people in reflecting on the beauty and values of our country through creative expression—an effort that has brought out inspiring and thoughtful works from students across the region.

All artwork will be displayed in the Alley Gallery beginning August 9, 2025, with winners chosen by public vote. Community members are encouraged to stop by, enjoy the artwork, and vote for their favorite piece. Voting will remain open through August 15, 2025.

“This exhibit is a powerful reminder of the pride and hope our youth carry for the future of America,” said Afton Griffin, President of Olde Town Covington, Inc. “We’re proud to celebrate their voices and bring this patriotic display to life during such a meaningful time for our city.”

The Alley Gallery is located in downtown Covington and is open to the public daily.
