ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS, Va, (VR) – Alleghany Highlands Public Schools teachers Kristen Garten of Callaghan Elementary School, left, and Katie Gibson of Sharon Elementary School engage with Responsive Classroom presenter Earl Hunter II during a training session at Jeter-Watson Elementary School on July 23. Thanks to generous support from The Alleghany Foundation, several AHPS elementary teachers and counselors took part in this three-day training aimed at fostering safe, joyful, and engaging classroom environments. Hunter, a certified consultant from Los Angeles, guided staff in strategies to promote students’ social and academic success. The training concluded with enthusiastic hugs and high fives, reflecting the positive energy teachers will bring to the new school year starting August 13. (AHPS Photo)
