Wayne Douglas

Mr. Gary Wayne Douglas, age 74, of Covington, died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at his residence.

He was the husband of Martha Jane Rock Douglas.

Mr. Douglas was born October 2, 1950, in Christiansburg, the son of the late Norman Lionel Douglas and Grace Omae Bush Douglas. He was employed as a carpenter by B.A. Fridley Construction Company for a number of years. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed playing music with the Moonshine
Express Band. He also enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales and playing jokes on people.

Mr. Douglas is survived by a son, Trent Douglas and wife, Julie of Covington; two grandchildren, Austin Trent Douglas and girlfriend, Brooke Crowder and Kayla Hope Douglas; one great grandson, Connor Aiden Harris; a brother, Shawn D. Douglas of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry Douglas and Vaughn D. Douglas and a niece, Sharon Renee Douglas Hoke.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Ballard officiating.

Those wishing to attend the service should assemble at Loving Funeral Home by 3:15 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Austin Douglas, Mike Douglas, Carlos Caldwell, Billy Fury, Brian Hayslett and Drew Hayslett
