CLIFTON FORGE — The Clifton Forge Fire Department has released its activity report for January.
The department answered 68 calls during the month — 12 fire calls and 56 emergency medical services calls. Sixty-six calls were in Clifton Forge, two were in Alleghany County.
The department averaged 7.5 firefighters per call. For the month, 298.1 miles were logged on department service vehicles.
EMS calls included:
— Three for cardiac issues.
— 24 for general illnesses.
— Four for public assistance.
— 11 for falls.
— Nine for shortness of breath.
— Three for trauma injuries.
— One call for unresponsiveness.
— One DOA call.

— Jan. 29: 104 Alleghany St., to assist law enforcement. Five firefighters responded with one piece of equipment.
— Jan. 30: 2211 Grafton St., for a fuel spill. Seven firefighters responded with two pieces of equipment.
— Jan. 30: Hickory Street for a trash fire. Seven firefighters responded with one piece of equipment.
— Jan. 31: 1100 McCormick Blvd., for a fire alarm activation. Five firefighters responded with one piece of equipment.
