Michael (Pat) Smith
Mr. Michael Patrick (Pat) Smith, age 57, of Covington, died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Emilie McGrady Smith to whom he was married to for thirty-six years.
Mr. Smith was born November 18, 1967 in Covington, the son of the late Charles Edward Smith and Glenna Cook Smith. Pat was employed as an electrician by WestRock for a number of years. He was a longtime and faithful member of First Christian Church as well as a wonderful layspeaker. Mr. Smith was a member of Dunlap Fire Department and Westvaco Fire Brigade and Hazmat Team. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working outside. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Emilie, Mr. Smith is survived by a daughter, Rachel K. Smith; two sons, Michael P. Smith, Jr. and wife, Molly and Casey Tyler Smith and wife, Kaleigh; a granddaughter, Navy Grace Smith; a grandson, Jamison Tyler Smith; an aunt, Sue Kelley and family; his father-in-law, Milton McGrady and wife, Tina; a sister-in-law, Brooke McGrady; a brother-in-law, Adam McGrady and family; a special friend and brother, Brian Middleton; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
