Rosemary Evelyn Nicely Nicely

Rosemary Evelyn Nicely Nicely, age 78, of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 29, 2025, with her husband and son by her side.

“Rose” was born November 9, 1946, in Clifton Forge to the late Benjamin Franklin Nicely and Ines Evelyn Anderson Nicely. She was a retired code inspector from the medical records department of Alleghany Regional Hospital. She loved her family and was one of the best cooks around. She enjoyed cheering on her son and grandchildren in their sports and collecting cookbooks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Goldie, Shirley, Frank, Walter, Corine, and Judy.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Danny K. Nicely; her son, Dewayne Nicely (Amy); her grandchildren, Aaron, Kailyn, and Aidan (Cassy); a great granddaughter, Madilynn; two brothers-in-law, Terry Nicely (Ellen) and Richard Nicely (Beryl); a devoted cousin, Brenda Lindsay; a special niece, Becky Dean, who stood at her wedding 55 years ago; and many other nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. The family will receive friends at 709 Nightingale Lane in Wesgate, Clifton Forge and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
