COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Mt. Carmel Methodist Church’s May Mission assisted VFW Post 1033 Auxiliary with their project to provide toiletries to veterans living at the Salem VA. The auxiliary project, SUDS” was a call from our district president, Kathy Voss, to donate shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and other items to the hospital.
Mt. Carmel Church’s May Mission was to provide toiletries and household supplies to the Compass House on Lexington Street. Compass for Life is a community organization based in Covington that provides support and guidance to individuals seeking direction in their personal and professional lives.
As a result of our newspaper article covering this story, the church reached out to the auxiliary to help with our project. Their project was a success making it possible for them to help not only their community, but the veterans who gave so much to our country.
Well done Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.
