Dr. Benjamin Cameron Meeks 1935 – 2025

Dr. Benjamin Cameron Meeks, aged 89, of Evergreen, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 12:39 p.m., in the cherished company of his wife and family. Following a dignified 19-month period in home hospice care, he succumbed to heart failure.

Born and raised in Covington, Virginia, Dr. Meeks graduated from Covington High School in 1953. He pursued higher education with distinction, obtaining an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia, and subsequently earning his Doctorate in Dentistry from Temple University. Between these academic endeavors, he honorably served for four years in the United States Army.

For 38 years, Dr. Meeks distinguished himself by devoting his career to the Covington community through his dental practice, earning the respect and gratitude of countless patients. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a committed servant to his faith and community—serving as an elder at Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and actively engaging with the Rotary Club. His life was a testament to unwavering integrity, compassion, and civic responsibility.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Pearle Cameron Meeks and Kay Mounts Meeks. Dr. Meeks is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Norma Bland Meeks; his son, Cameron Bland Meeks, along with his wife Rhonda Meeks; his daughter, Beth Ann Meeks, and her husband Christopher Scott Pierce; as well as his five treasured grandchildren—Jackson Price Zipp, Virginia Pearl Zipp, Justin Pierce Urbalejo, William Sawyer Pierce, and Elinor Arden Pierce.

Following his retirement, Dr. Meeks and his wife Norma made Colorado their home, where he continued to enjoy the solace of the mountains, prairies, and the warmth of familial bonds. His life leaves an enduring legacy of kindness, service, and commitment to the community.

A private service will be held at a later date.
