BEDFORD, Va. (VR) – On May 24, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, a bicyclist was traveling in the 3900 block of Nemmo Road in Bedford County and was struck by a vehicle. The is vehicle described as a silver/gray in color pickup truck pulling a small black utility trailer crossed the center line and struck the cyclist.
 
The driver got out of his vehicle and checked on the injured cyclist and immediately got back in his vehicle and fled the scene. A witness at the scene stated the suspect driver was a Hispanic or possibly Indian male individual, approximately 30 to 40 years of age, with short dark (Brown/Black) curly hair. Vehicle left the scene going south on Nemmo Road toward Route 24. 
 
Suspect vehicle will have damage to driver’s side mirror and damage to the front left headlight and front fender. 
 
*UPDATE – The cyclist died later at the hospital.
