ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Alleghany County Parks and Recreation, along with Jackson River Kiwanis, The Alleghany Highlands YMCA, Alleghany Outdoors, and Virginia State Parks, are excited to present the 2nd annual River and Trail Day on June 7, 2025 @ the Intervale Park and River Access from 11:00am – 4:00pm.

We are so excited to partner with others and be able to bring this event to the community and allow them to see all that this area and the trail has to offer them and enjoy a day full of fun in the sun.

The Jackson River Area Kiwanis Club will be doing a duck race, ducks will be available for purchase at the event prior to the race, as well as a few food vendors for purchases of their unique selection of food. The YCMA will be providing free chair yoga down by the river along with Alleghany Outdoors offering free lazy river tubing. The kids and adults alike will be able to not only enjoy all that but a rock wall, waterslide and mechanical surfer will also be set up to enjoy, when you’re not enjoying the trail and beautiful views along it. So come out and enjoy all that will be available that day!
