Cast a Line and Join the Fun at Alleghany County’s Annual Senior Fishing Day – June 6, 2025!

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va, (VR) – Alleghany County Parks and Recreation is excited to announce their Annual Senior Fishing Day will be held on June 6^, 2025! The Senior Fishing Day will allow adults ages 55 and up to fish along the river bank without the need of a fishing license that day on the Dunlap Creek at Boys Home of Virginia.

Registration will begin at 8:30am with the first cast at 9:00am and Last Cast at 12:00pm. Lunch will follow at 12:00pm with door prizes awarded for those present as well. We encourage all the seniors to come out this this event and grab a pole and enjoy the great outdoors on the beautiful Dunlap Creek bank!
