LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany High School boys tennis team continued its dominant season Friday with a 9-0 sweep of Patrick County, improving to 12-0 overall and 6-0 in district play.

The Cougars controlled the match from start to finish, winning all singles and doubles matches in straight sets. Head coach Seth Davis credited both his team’s performance and the resilience of their opponents.

“Patrick County is a young team that fought hard,” Davis said. “They didn’t quit, and I have a lot of respect for them.”

Alleghany’s unbeaten streak sets up a major showdown on Tuesday against another undefeated team—Floyd County. The match could decide the top spot in the district standings. “We will need to be ready for undefeated Floyd on Tuesday,” Davis said.
