David Gage McCallister

David Gage McCallister, 23, of Potts Creek, went home Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Gage was born on May 7, 2001, in Low Moor. He was a 2020 graduate from Alleghany High School and employed by Modine in Lexington. Gage loved to hunt and fish, spend time with his family and friends, and be noisy everywhere he went. His smile and laugh were infectious, and he was not afraid to be the comedian in any room. He lived loudly and loved fiercely. We should all strive to live and love like Gage.

Those who have gone home before Gage include his grandmother, Betty Morris McCallister “MawMaw”, Uncle Tony McCallister, and Uncle Wayne Watson.

So many are here to cherish his memory, including his fiancé, Lexxy Tucker; daughter, Adilee Layne; his parents, Heather Watson Williams, Scott Williams, and David Ray McCallister; a brother, Collin Williams; two sisters, Whitley Williams and Aubrey McCallister; grandparents, “Poppy and Mugs” Ed and Mary Watson, “PawPaw Mac” Larry McCallister, PawPaw Wayne and MawMaw Rita Williams; father and mother-in- law, Carl and Crystal Tucker; uncles and aunts, Chris Watson (Sandy), Lori Conner (Chris), and Kimmy Baird (Brian); cousins, Matt McCallister, Miles McCallister, Ben Spinks, Luke Connor, Christopher Watson, Betty Ann Watson, Megan Simmons, Tori Baird, Hunter Watson, and Chase Watson; special sisters, Hayle Newman, Samantha Smith, Alayna Micko, and Alley Micko; special friends, Ethan and Abby Persinger; special brothers, Noah Smith, Trevor Maydian, Brian Broughman, and Andrew Givens; beloved pups, Kona and Colt; and a large, and a loving family and group of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025 in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. John Ballard officiating. The family will receive their friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Ben Spinks, Christopher Watson, Noah Smith, Trevor Maydian, Brian Broughman, and Andrew Givens.

Honorary pallbearers will be his high school football team brothers and coaches.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the: David “Gage” McCallister account at WECCU Credit Union, 347 N Court Ave, Covington, VA 24426.

Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
