COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Mountain Toppers Healthy Aging Program welcomed Tiffany Bowser, director of Community Supports with Alleghany Highlands Community Services, and April Miller, prevention coordinator, Alleghany Highlands Community Services, to its April meeting. The presentation by Alleghany Highlands Community Services focused on Alcohol Awareness and other mental health topics.

In recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month in April, Mountain Toppers participants played an Alcohol Awareness Bingo game. They also designed and made wreaths under the direction of Paula Pickwick.

The Mountain Toppers group meets the third Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. until noon at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library in downtown Covington. The upcoming May 15 meeting will feature a presentation on internet safety, provided by Highland Computers. Lunch will be provided by Cliff View, sponsored by Garten Trucking.

The Mountain Toppers Healthy Aging Program is supported by the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library, the Alleghany Highlands YMCA Healthy Highlands Program and ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice.
