COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Downtown Covington came alive on Friday, May 2nd, as Ole Town Covington kicked off the 2025 Cinco de Mayo festivities with unforgettable energy and excitement. With picture-perfect weather setting the stage, Main Street was absolutely buzzing with energy, music, mouthwatering food, and celebration.

Main Street was packed with people of all ages, all out to enjoy the good vibes and festive energy. From the first guitar strum to the final note, Chad Nickell and the Loose Change rocked the crowd with an electric set that spanned genres and generations. Nickell lit up the stage with a powerhouse performance that had the crowd dancing in the streets, singing along, and riding a wave of nonstop energy all night long.

Families found plenty of fun, with kid-friendly entertainment keeping the youngest attendees just as thrilled as their parents. And when it came to food, Covington did not disappoint. Lucas Pizza delivered the classics — cheese and pepperoni — but turned heads and taste buds with their bold and delicious Mexican Street Corn pizza, crafted especially for the occasion.

Meanwhile, local favorite Casa de Leones was slammed with business even before the party officially kicked off. When The Virginian Review stopped in, a steady line was already forming out the door — proof that Covington knows exactly where to find its fiesta flavors.

As of press time, organizers hadn’t confirmed final attendance numbers, but one thing is clear: the Cinco de Mayo celebration was a massive success. Main Street was buzzing with excitement, the music was electrifying the air, and the community came together for an unforgettable night
