This District work period has seen busy and productive activity, both in Washington and across the Sixth District. From advancing efforts to restore law and order in Virginia, to unleashing American energy, to standing up for the rule of law, House Republicans are delivering results. Here at home, my team remains focused on helping constituents navigate challenges and cut through unnecessary obstacles. As Congress returns to Washington this week, I remain committed to fighting for commonsense policies that protect our communities, strengthen our economy, and put Virginians first.

Restoring Law and Order in Virginia

Keeping our communities safe is one of my top priorities, and I’m proud that Virginia is helping lead the way. Since February, the Virginia Homeland Security Task Force has made over 500 arrests — including 132 violent gang members tied to MS-13 and Tren de Aragua. These dangerous individuals have no place in our neighborhoods, and our state’s law enforcement is taking action to restore law and order across the Commonwealth.

In Congress, House Republicans have taken key steps to support these efforts. We passed the Laken Riley Act, which requires U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest illegal immigrants who are repeat offenders of theft and retail crime, like the individual responsible for the tragic death of 19-year-old Laken Riley. We also passed the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, which ensures that illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes, such as domestic abuse, are deemed inadmissible and face mandatory deportation. This is about protecting women, restoring law and order, and putting the safety of American citizens first.

Thanks to Governor Youngkin’s leadership and the implementation of the 287(g) program, Virginia law enforcement is now working directly with ICE to identify and remove criminal illegal immigrants from our communities. I’ve proudly supported the 287(g) Program Protection Act to expand these partnerships and give local law enforcement the tools they need to do their jobs.

Last week, I joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to highlight these efforts and how they’re already making a difference. I’ll keep fighting for commonsense immigration policies that uphold the rule of law, secure our communities, and put Virginians first.

Unleashing American Energy

For too long, burdensome red tape has held back our energy sector, delaying critical projects and driving up costs for hardworking families. I am proud to support President Trump’s new emergency permitting order, which will cut the permitting process from years to just 28 days and help tap into our nation’s vast natural resources.

By streamlining regulations, we can boost American energy production, create good-paying jobs, and lower energy costs for families across Virginia and the country. Energy independence is critical to our national security, and we must ensure we are not reliant on foreign adversaries to power our economy. This order will help move forward important infrastructure projects like pipelines, refineries, and renewable energy facilities. More American energy production means lower utility bills, more jobs, and a stronger economy for our communities.

In Congress, I proudly supported H.R. 26, the Protecting American Energy Production Act, which prevents any federal ban on fracking and ensures we can continue to access our domestic oil and gas reserves. House Republicans have also already reversed seven major regulations from the Biden Administration that were holding our energy sector back. I have seen firsthand how unnecessary government delays can stall important projects for years and will continue to fight to keep energy affordable for Virginia families.

tanding Up for the Rule of Law

Last week, President Trump rightly called out activist judges for blocking efforts to remove dangerous criminals from our communities. Using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, the administration is prioritizing national security by deporting individuals who entered illegally under the Biden Administration’s failed border policies. I remain committed to upholding the rule of law and the will of the American people. President Trump was elected with a clear mandate to secure our borders and protect our communities, and I stand with him in fulfilling that mission.

Unfortunately, judges like U.S. District Judge James Boasberg for the District of Columbia are issuing nationwide injunctions that undermine these efforts and threaten public safety. We must not allow judicial activism to override the tough immigration policies that Americans demanded. That’s why House Republicans passed the No Rogue Rulings Act of 2025, which puts a stop to single judges issuing sweeping nationwide injunctions that block federal policy across all 50 states. Under this bill, these cases must now be referred to multiple jurisdictions and decided by a randomly selected panel of three judges — a necessary reform to curb judicial overreach and restore balance to our courts. I’ll continue working in Congress to defend our nation’s sovereignty, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that the voices of the American people are not silenced by activist courts.

Assisting a Constituent with an Insurance Claim

A Warren County resident contacted my office after Blue Cross Blue Shield denied his reimbursement for a CPAP machine, even though he had received prior approval. This machine was important for his health, and the insurance company did not give a clear reason for the denial.

When my team looked into it, we found that the claim was denied only because the equipment had shipped from Texas, which placed it under a different Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. This mistake caused an unnecessary delay in his care. We contacted the Texas office directly, worked to expedite the claim, and made sure the constituent received the reimbursement he deserved.

If you or someone you know needs help working with a federal agency or navigating a complicated claim, please reach out to one of my district offices.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Congressman. If my office can ever be of assistance, please contact my Washington office at (202) 225-5431.
