Betty Lou ’Dinkie’ Wheeler Brown
Betty Lou ’Dinkie’ Wheeler Brown, 63 went to be with our Heavenly Father on the early morning hours of Friday, April 25, 2025, at her home in Laurel Hill, Florida.
Dinkie was born February 7,1962 in Richmond Virginia. In 1979 Dinkie moved with her family to Covington, Virginia where she graduated from in 1980. Two years later she suffered from cancer of the brain and made full recovery to move on with her life, getting married and having a family. She lived a healthy life in Florida. Dinkie was a perfectionist and an avid housekeeper, had her own little business cleaning houses. Her home was always spotless.
In Dinkie’s last couple years she suffered from several illnesses including shattered hip, which caused her to go downhill physically and mentally.
Dinkie is preceded in death by her father William ‘Bill’ Edward Wheeler and her maternal grandparents; Glen and Frances Van Devender of Iron Gate Virginia, and paternal grandparent; Roscoe and Leona Wheeler of Covington Virginia.
She is survived by her mother Lottie Louise VanDevender Wheeler of Eagle Rock Virginia, brother Dale (Sandy) Wheeler of Richmond Virginia, sister Sandy Walpole from Clifton Forge, Virginia and sister Rita Wheeler of Eagle Rock Virginia, eight nieces and nephews: Jennifer and Jamie Walpole, Joey Wheeler, Amy and Andy Bauman, Taylor Arrington, Cody and Autumn Brickey. All her family being in Virginia.
Dinkie will be missed by many family and friends and remembered by her jokes and Daffy Duck sounds, monkey acting fun.
There will be no memorial or funeral in Florida as we plan a celebration of life for her here in the near future for us to come together in Virginia
