COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Covington Middle School will be holding open gyms for students interested in trying out for the 2025-2026 cheerleading season. These sessions are open to rising 6th through 8th graders.

The open gyms will take place at the CMS gym on April 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. These sessions are intended to help participants prepare for tryouts and improve their skills.
In order to participate, students must have an up-to-date physical for the current school year. Tryouts for the 2025-2026 season will be held at the end of May, with the exact dates to be announced later. Attending the open gyms is not required to try out, but they provide an opportunity to practice and get familiar with the cheerleading team.
