Alleghany Commandery  23, Knights Templar Masonry of Virginia, recently welcomed a new Sir Knight to membership.
Sean Odell Wilson  received the Red Cross, Malta, and Templar degrees to receive his Knighthood into The Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Virginia. Sir Knight Wilson said he was very pleased to obtain this high privilege to be a part of Christian masonry.
Wilson also commented on how the degrees were very beautifully done, and on the spiritual values that one should have to be accepted to Templar masonry.
The biblical references and faith in Jesus Christ as Savior are most important in obtaining knighthood.
A special conclave to confer the orders festival-style was held Saturday, Oct. 26, at Lynn Commandery 9 in Marion, and consisted of candidates from Alleghany  Commandery 23, Bayard Commandery 15, Johnson Commandery 14, Lynn Commandery 9, New River Valley Commandery 32, and Stevenson Commandery 8.
Attending the orders, along with other Sir Knights from the Grand Commandery of Virginia in conferring the Orders of Knight Hood on the new candidates, were Sir Knights from the Grand commandery of Tennessee, and the Grand Royal Arch Chapter Past Grand High Priest.
Commander Bobby Curtis of Alleghany Commandery 23 presented Sir Knight Wilson with his membership card and a certificate of life membership in the Eye Foundation.
