Boys Track Team Powers Through Meet with Stellar Performances

FAIRLEA, WV. (VR) –The Alleghany Boys Track Team delivered impressive performances across a wide range of events during the Spartan Relay on Saturday, with several athletes standing out in both individual and relay events. This was the first competition of the season for the boys, and they have set the bar high. 

Boys Varsity 100 Meter Race

Senior Nick Frye demonstrated his speed in the boys’ 100-meter race, securing a strong second-place finish with a time of 12.01 seconds. Elijah White finished in 10th place with a time of 12.44, while Kirby Brown placed 18th with a time of 13.09.

Boys Varsity 200 Meter Race

In the 200-meter race, Miles Christian raced to a spectacular first-place finish, crossing the line in 23.55 seconds. Nick Frye followed closely behind in third place with a time of 23.94. Kirby Brown finished 16th with a time of 27.52. 

Boys Varsity 400 Meter Race

Evan Bishop led the way in the 400-meter race, securing second place with a time of 53.23 seconds. Kenton Kirby finished in 10th place at 58.34, while Ryan Tucker (1:08.19) and Levi Wilkerson (1:09.88) placed 23rd and 26th, respectively. Kirby Brown did not compete in this event.

Boys 110 Meter Hurdles

Desmond Jordan made his mark in the 110-meter hurdles, earning a third-place finish with a time of 17.08 seconds.

Boys 4×100 Meter Relay

The Cougar boys’ 4×100-meter relay team dominated the competition, taking first place with an impressive time of 45.40 seconds. The team, consisting of Desmond Jordan, Nick Frye, Miles Christian, and Elijah White, showcased their teamwork and speed.

Boys 4×400 Meter Relay

The 4×400-meter relay team of James Ross, Miles Christian, Evan Bishop, and Kenton Kirby earned a solid second-place finish with a time of 3:48.50, showcasing their stamina and relay execution.

Boys 4×800 Meter Relay

The Cougar boys’ 4×800-meter relay team, consisting of Zeke Downey, Isaac Bennett, Nolan Nicely, and Nolan Rosales, placed fifth with a time of 9:44.39.

Boys Distance Medley Relay (DMR)

The team of Nolan Nicely, Kirby Brown, Isaac Bennett, and Levi Wilkerson competed hard in the 4000-meter DMR and finished in fifth place with a time of 13:13.14.

Boys 4×110 Meter Hurdles Relay

The boys’ 4×110-meter hurdles relay team—Evan Bishop, Desmond Jordan, James Ross, and X Zavier Hayslett—placed 4th with a time of 1:14.28, showing strong performances through the challenging hurdle event.
