STUARTS DRAFT, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Cougars girls’ varsity soccer team endured a challenging start to the week, suffering back-to-back losses on Monday and Tuesday night. After falling 3-1 on Monday, the Cougars struggled to find their footing in a 6-0 defeat on Tuesday.
Despite the tough results, head coach Donnan highlighted the performance of sophomore goalkeeper Gracie Stull, who stood out as a bright spot for the team. Stull recorded an impressive 19 saves in Tuesday’s match, showcasing her resilience and determination between the posts.
“She’s been the highlight of our season so far,” Donnan said. “She kept us in the game with some incredible stops.” The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Thursday, when they compete with Staunton at Gypsy Hill Park
