LEWISBURG W.Va. (VR) — The United Way of Greenbrier Valley is excited to present Empty Bowls, a charitable event uniting the community, while supporting local food pantries, within Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas counties. Empty Bowls is a celebration of local flavors, craftsmanship, and the spirit of giving. Guests will savor gourmet soups and freshly baked bread and may take home a gift of a beautifully handcrafted bowl of their choice. This evening of fun is on Feb. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Clingman Center, in downtown Lewisburg.
This year’s event will feature a selection of 18 gourmet soups, each thoughtfully prepared to warm your heart and delight your taste buds. Attendees will also enjoy live music, sip refreshing beverages from the cash bar, and have the chance to bid on an array of exciting items, during the silent auction.
Local eateries contributing their culinary creations include: Gustard’s Bistro, The French Goat, The Greenbrier, Amy’s Market, and The General Lewis Inn, among others. “This year, we have two very interesting sources of cuisine; homemade buttermilk bread from Carnegie Hall, and three gourmet soups from Greenbrier East High School’s ProStart culinary arts program,” says Lauren Rainier, executive director of United Way of Greenbrier Valley.
More than just a meal, Empty Bowls is an opportunity to come together with friends, family, and neighbors to make a meaningful difference. Your attendance will directly support local food pantries and help those in need throughout the region.
