COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Covington Middle School will dismiss early today due to ongoing unexpected utility work to address an issue with a gas line near the school.
The school is safe. The decision to dismiss early is a precautionary measure.
Students are at Clifton Academy in Low Moor. Parents can pick their students up at the academy now. School personnel will be onsite to assist with an orderly dismissal. Bus transportation will be provided. Students will be dismissed for bus transportation at 1:30 p.m.
The early dismissal does not affect schedules at other schools. However, some students may arrive late at bus stops after school.
