John Francis Putnam, Sr., age 57, of 1700 Main St, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Alleghany Health and Rehab, Clifton Forge.
He was born January 15, 1962 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Dennis Dudley Putnam, Sr. and Patricia Lowman Putnam.
John was a truck driver for over 30 years, loved working on old cars and working in the yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Putnam and a niece.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Smith Putnam, a daughter, Paula Putnam , two sons, John Putnam, Jr. of Richmond and Joseph Putnam and girlfriend, Deborah Peterson, and two step sons, RJ Robinson, Jr. and James Cody Robinson, all of Clifton Forge; close family friends, whom John considered sons, C. W. Nelson and Cordale Elmore; a sister, Lucy Denise Sanchez and husband Hugo of Houston Texas; three brothers, Dennis D. Putnam, Jr. and wife, Betty, who was his best buddy, George Putnam, and David Putnam, all of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Oliver Hess of Eagle Rock and Raelynn Robinson of Iron Gate; three special friends, Velma Jefferies, Chuck Harlow, and Matthew Frazier; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time.
Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.
