FAIRLEA- Despite being the smallest team at the Morris Reese Memorial Holiday Tournament at Greenbrier East (WV) High School on Saturday, Dec. 14, the Bath County Chargers continued to prove the fight of the dog is greater than the size of it.
The Chargers had a good showing and finished in fourth place in the highly competitive tournament.
Their neighbors, Alleghany, finished first.
Bath results below:
Jeremy Burns continued his strong play by going 5-0 with five pins.
Tyler Shaver went 4-1 with four pins and it was another phenomenal tournament from the freshman heavyweight.
Paxton Rivenbark went 3-2 with 3 pins, including clutching up when he was down 13-3 in his last match of the day and sending his opponent feet-to-back for the pin.
Noah Bolling kept it rolling with a 3-2 day, two pins, and a 19-9 victory.
Emily Robertson went 2-3 with two nice pins. Emily has only wrestled men this season and has already racked up three pins and the coaching staff is proud of her accomplishments so far.
Azi Tyson got his first win via pin today.
Bath will participate in a tri meet at Staunton this Tuesday, December 17.
