Dressler, Lian named to Class 3 All-State Volleyball team

LOW MOOR – The accolades keep coming in for a pair of Alleghany volleyball players as both Kaiya Lian and Kendra Dressler were named to the 2024 Class 3 All-State Volleyball second team.
 
Lian, a senior, led the team with 410 kills, 75 aces, and 323 digs. Lian was also recognized on the First Team All-Region 3C.
 
The same bolds for Dressler, who also was selected onto the All-Region First Team. Only a sophomore, Dressler led the way dishing out 867 assists, including 60 kills, 60 aces (second on team), and 191 digs.
 
Alleghany finished 24-5 overall and won both the regular season and tournament Three Rivers District championships. The Cougars finished as the region runner-up to LCA.
 
Caleigh Ponn from Hidden Valley was named the Class 3 Player of the Year, while David Keeter from Grafton was named the Class 3 Coach of the Year.

Molly McCall – Fluvanna County
Avery Jastrzemski – Goochland
Brooke DeAtley – Kettle Run
Kyla Jones – Kettle Run
Kenstin Phelps – Liberty Christian
Leah Rounds – New Kent
Mackenzie Loveland – New Kent
