Lumberjacks 2025 Schedule

COVINGTON – Mark your 2025 calendar for Friday, May 30th.
 
That’s the official opening-day for the Valley Baseball League and season-opener for Covington.
 
The Lumberjacks coming off of a 20-20 season last year, will open their 2025 season on the road against one of their South Division rivals,  the Staunton Braves. 
 
Of their 42-game schedule the team’s first home game will take place on Sunday, June 1st when Covington hosts Front Royal.
 
Four of the team’s first five games are on the road. While their longest tenured time at home at Casey Field will be during July 3-9 as the Lumberjacks play five out of six at home, including three in a row.
 
Charlottesville, who won the 2024 VBL Championship over Purcellville, will play at Covington on Thursday, June 5th.
 
The trial run that was the 2024 season where teams only played within their division is over.
 
For the 2025 season the VBL heads back to a regular season style format playing out of the division as well as in the division.
 
The Lumberjacks out of division games include Front Royal, New Market, Purcellville, Strasbourg, Winchester, and Woodstock. The Jacks’ will play them each twice, once at home and once away.
 
The postseason is tentatively scheduled to start on Thursday, July 24th with the regular season concluding on Monday, July 21st.
