6. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
A. Public Hearing to consider an application from Highland Centre, LLC to rezone the remaining portion of one building at 129 Mall Road from a Business B-1 zone classification to a Business B-2 zone classification to allow climate control mini storage. The property is further identified as Tax Map 57, Parcel 612. The property is in a “Highway Mixed Use” area as contained in the Comprehensive Plan.
B. Public Hearing to consider an amendment to Chapter 58-Taxation of “The Code of the County of Alleghany, Virginia” to add Article XII – Exemption for Surviving Spouses of Certain Persons Killed in the Line of Duty pursuant to Title 58.1, Chapter 32, Article 2.5 of the Code of Virginia.

8. VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) UPDATE:
A. Ms. Susan Hammond, VDOT Resident Engineer – Update.
9. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.
10. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Mr. Donald Lugar – Discuss personal property scheduling.
B. Discuss and consider Mutual Aid Service Agreement with Rockbridge County, Memorandum of Understanding with Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, and Memorandum of Understanding with other County volunteer departments.
C. Discuss and consider master equipment lease financing for fire apparatus.
D. Discuss and consider bonus request for Department of Social Services employees.
E. Discuss and consider supplemental appropriation in FY25 (Parks and Recreation).
F. The terms of Mrs. Brenda Woodie (Clifton Forge East District) and Mrs. Teresa Johnson (Clifton Forge West District) on the Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board expire December 31, 2024. Terms are for three years and both are eligible for reappointment.
G. The term of Mr. Jonathan Fitch (Director of Public Safety) on the Western Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council expires December 31, 2024. Terms are for three years and Mr. Fitch is eligible for reappointment.
