Jonathan Thomas Cobbs, 30, of Covington was sentenced in the Alleghany County Circuit Court to 30 years in prison with 15 years suspended for an active mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years. After his release from prison, Cobbs will be on supervised probation for three years.
Cobbs pled guilty on November 12, 2024 to three counts of distribution of more than 10 grams of methamphetamine. Cobbs entered his pleas after officers of the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force executed multiple controlled buys from the defendant in excess of one ounce each. Cobbs admitted that he had made multiple sales of an ounce of methamphetamine.
