COVINGTON Va. (VR) – Covington City Council held its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. One of the
evening’s highlights came during the city manager’s report. Covington City manager Allen Dressler called Lisa Worley to the podium. Dressler described her as someone he respects greatly and has enjoyed working with for many years. As both an administrative secretary and someone who spent numerous hours working with the Parks and Recreation Department and assisting the City Manager’s Office, Dressler has been able to get to know her very well. He went on to share that after going through a process, he was proud to announce publicly that Lisa Worley is the new Recreation Director for the City of Covington.

After a nice round of applause, Worley in a short speech said, “I would like to thank Mr. Bryant and Mr. Dressler for having faith in me that I can do this. I know that I will be successful with them by my side to lead me, but being the director is just a title. It takes all of the guys at the cemetery and parks and rec to work with me to make it successful and I have faith that we will continue to make everything great that Mr. Dressler has built and will continue to build on it and I appreciate everything.” After her remarks, Worley was greeted with a number of congratulatory comments and positive words from the council and those in attendance.
