Drug Task Force Makes Arrests

Fifty-five suspects were indicted on 179 felony drug charges by an Alleghany County Circuit Court grand jury Jan. 20.

Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall said the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force began arresting the suspects last week. As of Thursday, 52 individuals had been arrested.

Individuals facing charges include:

Reshawn Antione Jeter, 31, 329 Prospect St., Covington. Two counts of distributing cocaine.

Paul Andrew Kirby, 54, 702 S. Highland Ave., Covington. One count of distributing cocaine, one count of conspiring with another person to distribute cocaine.

Edgar Franklin Huffman Jr., 308 Jackson Flat Rd., Covington. One count of distributing cocaine. One count with conspiring with another to distribute cocaine.

Scarlet Angela Lowe, 51, 386 Main St., Covington. Two counts of distribution of hydrocodone.

Deborah Crawford, 47, 337 E. Prospect St., Covington. One count of distribution of Vicodin.

Karl Austin Mills, 54, 1001 Tremont St., Clifton Forge. One count of distributing cocaine, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute cocaine.

Rachelle Nicole Brown, 35, 441 Ridgeway St., Clifton Forge. One count of distributing hydrocodone, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute hydrocodone, two counts of distributing morphine, one count of distributing cocaine, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute cocaine.

April Nicole Campbell, 22, 4512 Dunlap Creek Rd., Covington. Three counts of distributing hydrocodone, one count of distributing Oxycodone.

Sharon Faye Aleshire, 38, 204 Magazine Ave., Covington. Two counts of distributing Quetiapine, one count of distributing an imitation controlled substance.

Charlotte Nicole Snead, 41, 504 S. Mercer St., Covington. One count of distributing hydrocodone, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute hydrocodone, one count of distributing morphine.

Antonio Smith, 23, 618 Rose Lane, Covington. Two counts of distributing crack cocaine, two counts of conspiring with another individual to distribute crack cocaine.

Canissa Rena Smith, 31, 618 Rose Lane, Covington. Four counts of distributing crack cocaine, two counts of conspiring with another individual to distribute crack cocaine.

Jimmy Madison Dunbar Jr., 31, 901 Main St., Clifton Forge. Two counts of distributing marijuana.

Melvina June Simmons, 65, 1557 N. Alleghany Ave., Clifton Forge. Two counts of distributing Lortab, two counts of distributing hydrocodone.

Joseph Akers, 23, 2111 Mallow Rd., Covington. One count of cocaine distribution.

Travis Dean Hall, 29, 826 Long Ave., Apt. A-12, Covington. One count of distributing Lortab, one count of distributing methadone, one count of distributing Percocet.

Ernest Lindall Robinson Jr. (no age given), 516 E. Pine St., Covington. One count of obtaining money under false pretenses, three counts of distributing crack cocaine, two counts of distributing crack cocaine, two counts of distributing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute crack cocaine.

Angie Fink, 32, 107 E. Parrish St., Covington. Two counts of distributing marijuana, two counts of conspiring with another individual to distribute marijuana.

Allen Cook, 36, 401 S. Marion Ave., Covington. Two counts of distributing marijuana, two counts of conspiring with another to distribute marijuana.

Maurice Tremayne Davenport, 37, 625 McCormick Blvd., Clifton Forge. Two counts of distributing crack cocaine.

Michael Edward Nicely, 37, 109 Friels Dr., Covington. One count of distributing Vicodin, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute Vicodin.

Clarisa Ann Smith, 19, 109 Friels Dr., Covington. One count of distributing Vicodin, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute Vicodin.

Claude Howard Hunter Jr., 60, 1019 Lincoln Ave., Covington. One count of distributing crack cocaine, one count of conspiring with another to distribute crack cocaine, one count of distributing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school/park.

Shay Cordell Bolden, 36, 423 A. St., Clifton Forge. Three counts of distributing Oxycontin, three counts of conspiring with another to distribute Oxycontin.

Sean Demetrius Allen, 35, 508 N. Alleghany Ave., Covington. One count of distributing crack cocaine, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute crack cocaine.

April Rose Cox Persinger, 32, 395 Bennettown Rd., Covington. One count of distributing Percocet, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute Percocet.

Norma Jean Persinger, 56, 100 Nicholas Dr., Lot B-22, Clifton Forge. One count of distributing Percocet, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute Percocet.

Kevin Lavon Holloway, 29, 111 E. Cherry St., Covington. Four counts of distributing crack cocaine, two counts of distributing drugs near a school, two counts of possessing a firearm while in possession of crack cocaine, four counts of child endangerment, two counts of conspiring with another individual to distribute crack cocaine.

Ramanda Tenise McKnight, 31, 111 E. Cherry St., Covington. One count of possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute, two counts of possessing a firearm while in possession of crack cocaine, one count of possessing crack cocaine near a school, one count of conspiring with another individual to distribute crack cocaine.

While arresting the suspects, 11 vehicles were seized by the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force.

The Alleghany, Bath and Highland county sheriff’s offices assisted with the arrests, along with Virginia State Police, the Covington Police Department, Iron Gate Police Chief Brad Hodge, Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control agents, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries conservation police officers and CSX detectives.

The task force consists of officers from Virginia State Police, the Covington Police Department, and the Alleghany, Bath and Highland county sheriff’s offices.
