Dear Citizens and Commercial Customers,
If you have visited Alleghany County Public Works recently, you may have noticed the renovations we are undertaking to improve our ability to serve you. We are excited about these necessary upgrades and appreciate your patience during this time.
As part of this project, new flooring will be installed in our office on Monday, September 23, and Tuesday, September 24. During these two days, our office will be closed to the public. However, we will continue return telephone calls and respond to all water and sewer emergencies.
If you need to schedule water or sewer account activations or deactivations, we kindly ask that you plan around these dates to avoid any inconvenience.
The Planning/Zoning and Building Official’s Office will be open, but due to limited access to needed equipment, we ask that you schedule around this time, if at all possible.
Please note that trash pickup and transfer station hours will not be affected by this closure. All other County offices will be open for business.
Additionally, if we are unable to answer your call immediately, you are encouraged to leave a message.
All messages will be returned within an hour.
