Shirley Napier Bise, 70, of 4110 Callaghan Circle, died, Sunday, Oct 25, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Bise was born June 24, 1939, in Lewisburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Bernard T. and Edna Counts Napier.

She attended Dunlap High School while growing up in the Callaghan area. Shirley lived in Colonial Heights for many years and worked for the Dupont Corp and American Filtrona in Richmond. In 1977, she moved to Gillette, Wyo., where she worked for Wackenhut Security for several years. She returned to Virginia in 1986 to care for her elderly parents until their deaths.

Shirley was a natural caregiver and always put her family first. She will be greatly missed by all who have known her throughout her life.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children, Debra Lewis and her husband, Don, of Bullock, N.C., Sherry Bunch of Bracey; Gary Bunch of Covington, Robert E. Croyle Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Coburn, and Lisa Czapla and her husband, Doug, of Gillette, Wyo.; five granddaughters and four great-granddaughters; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Alice Napier of Lewisburg, W.Va., Ray and Sherry Napier of Goodview, and James and Brenda Napier of Covington; four sisters, Patricia Hooker and her husband, Jerry, and Nancy Gray, all of Covington, Lois Hazen of Waynesboro and Linda Kwarziany and her husband, Alexander, of Wilmington, N.C.: and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will be in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Friends may pay their respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggests that donations in Mrs. Bise’s name be made to the Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O.Box 637, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422.
