HOT SPRINGS, VA, June 17, 2024 — The Hot Springs Charge of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC) announces that the Rev. Namseok
“Andrew” Baek will be leaving Ashwood UMC in Hot Springs and Emory UMC in Covington. He has been appointed to serve as pastor of Central UMC in Salem, Va.
Pastor Andrew’s final service will be a combined worship service of the Ashwood and Emory congregations at Ashwood UMC, 5674 Sam Snead Hwy., on June 23, 2024, at 10:30 AM. A reception with a light covered-dish lunch will follow. The public is warmly invited to join us in saying farewell to Andrew, his wife So Yoon Park, and children Ryan and Mina, all of whom have been a blessing to the community since Andrew’s
appointment here in 2018.
Andrew has been a selfless servant of God during these six years, visiting those in the hospital, calling on the homebound, and working with his family at the Ashwood Food Pantry each month. In recent years, the community has been blessed by So Yoon’s summer Origami Art Camps for children and her origami lessons at area schools. Their children, Ryan and Mina, have excelled in academics, music, dance, and athletics here.
We hope you’ll take the opportunity on June 23 to join us for worship and to say thanks to Pastor Andrew and his family for all they’ve done for us. Ashwood United Methodist Church is located at 5674 Sam Snead Hwy, Hot Springs. Emory United Methodist Church is located at 7401 Jackson River Road, Covington.
