Dorothy Virginia Wiseman
Dorothy Virginia Wiseman, age 80, of Covington, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Born on January 13, 1944 in Ronceverte, WV, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Rowena Burns Brooks.
Dorothy attended First Church of Nazarene in Covington, VA. She loved her church family and was a devout Christian. She served as President of the Ladies Circle which allowed her to be involved in many social activities. Dorothy had a passion for gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Brooks and sister-in-law, Christine Brooks.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 20 years, Roger Wiseman; son, Andy Wiseman (Kate) of Hot Springs, VA; daughter, Lori Hicks (Carl) of Hot Springs, VA; brothers, Randolph Brooks (Fran) of Burton, MI and Roger Brooks (Linda) of Alderson, WV; sisters, Nancy Walker of Shady Springs, WV and Liz Compton (David) of Bradley, WV; five grandchildren, Shannon Richmond (Chris), Christopher Wiseman (Evie), Chelsea Chittum (Phil), Hayden Hicks, and Taylor Meeker (Gordon); 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Valley View Cemetery at Powleys Creek with Pastor Robert Wiseman officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Wednesday at Pivont Funeral Home.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
