Covington, VA (VR) – The 28th annual Alleghany Highlands Youth Day Rodeo will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Jackson River Sport Complex in Covington.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the event will start at 10 a.m. sharp.
The Youth Day Rodeo is sponsored by area law enforcement agencies throughout the Alleghany Highlands, and is held in conjunction with kid’s day, sponsored by area parks and recreation departments from Alleghany County, Bath County, and the City of Covington.
The event is for youth ages 4 to 14 years old.
Activities for the day, will include: a magic show, bicycle safety, games, and area youth dancers. There will be bicycle give aways, along with other prizes. Each year, hundreds of area youth gather at the Jackson River Sport Complex, for a fun filled day, and to learn the importance of bicycle safety, while building bridges among members of area law enforcement agencies.
There will also be food and snacks provided for those participating in the Youth Day Rodeo, along with their families.
This is an entirely free event, and is made possible through the generosity of area businesses, civic groups, churches, and individuals, throughout our communities.
