Parry McCluer edges Bath on the mat

BUENA VISTA – In a Pioneer District dual meet at Parry McCluer High School on January 25th, the Fighting Blues edged Bath County 45-36 on the wrestling mat.
 
Despite the loss, Bath County had six individual victories in their district dual meet. Sophomore A.J. Woodson picked up his 23rd win of the season following a pinfall victory in the 144-weight class over Scottie Garrett. 
 
Dillan Royer also had a pinfall victory for the Chargers as he pinned Brad Spinner in the 215-weight class.
 
Other winners from BCHS include Noah Boiling, Paxton Rivenbark, Abby Stone, and Renee Tuning. Each won their matches by forfeit.
 
The Chargers are one match away, a tri-match at Grace Christian along with Virginia Episcopal before the Class 1, Region C championship which takes place this Saturday at Parry McCluer High School.

150: Ja. Brockenbrough, PM – pinfall over Ethan Bryant
157: P. Rivenbark, BC – forfeit win
165: Convers, PM – defeated Burns
175: N. Boiling, BC – forfeit win
190: Conner, PM – pinfall win over M. Malpica
215: D. Royer, BC – pinfall win over Spinner
285: Lesher, PM – pinfall win over A. Altizer.
