Melissa L. Green, RN, MSHA, LNHA retired Partner, Co-Founder & Chief Clinical Officer for Trio Healthcare LLC, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). She was also selected as one of the Top 25 Global Impact Leaders for 2023.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in and of itself. Only a few select members are chosen for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. These special honorees are selected to receive this award based on their longevity in their fields, contributions to society, and impact on their industries. Melissa received her award in December at the Plaza Hotel and was featured on the NASDAQ monitor in Times Square.
With over three decades of professional experience in the healthcare industry, Melissa was recognized as a Lifetime Achievement Awardee.
As a Chief Clinical Officer for the healthcare business, Melissa has certainly proven her expertise in the field. She is a dynamic, results-oriented leader who has achieved success in her role as Partner, Co-Founder, and Chief Clinical Officer of Trio Healthcare LLC and in every previous position she has held. The Governor of Virginia selected her for a four-year term on the State Board of Health representing the Long Term Care sector and she has served on the Governor’s pandemic task force since 2020.
Melissa’s impressive repertoire of prior roles include Partner and Chief Clinical Officer for Trio Healthcare, Corporate Director of Clinical Services III for Consulate Health Care; Vice President of Clinical Operations for Sun Healthcare Group; Vice President of Clinical Management for Sava Senior Care; Senior Vice President of Clinical, Regulatory, and Corporate Compliance for AdCare Health Systems; Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for Reliant Senior Care; and Vice President of Physician Implementation for Vohra.
Her primary responsibilities include directing the company’s Clinical, Regulatory, and Compliance operations with a particular emphasis on quality care, favorable regulatory outcomes, and clinical reimbursement systems. She enhances the performance of clinically underperforming facilities and aids institutions with open correctional programs and licensing requirements.
Kennedy Western University awarded Melissa a Master of Science in Health/Health Care Administration/Management. Currently, she is a member of the Nurse Executive Council, a member of the CMS Regulatory Committee, and has previously served as a member of the Virginia Health Care Association’s Board of Directors.
As founder of the non-profit organization LILY (Ladies inspiring Ladies and Youth), Melissa is creating and managing a faith-based inspirational organization that provides women with resources for Economic Empowerment, self-improvement, and motivation to be positive role models and inspire other women and youth.
Throughout her remarkable career, Melissa has received awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. Melissa was recently honored as Top Chief Clinical Officer of the Decade for 2022, and her selection to be featured in the 2nd Edition of the Top 50 Fearless Leaders Publication by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). She graced the front cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and had an exclusive interview on TIP Radio with Miss Universe. In 2020 she received IAOTP’s The Empowered Woman of the year award and Top Chief Clinical Officer of the Year for 2019. Melissa was featured in Marquis Who’s Who and also listed in the American Registry as a “Top US Executive”. Melissa is active in her community and sits on numerous healthcare advisory boards.
Looking back, Melissa owes her success to her tenacity, the mentors she has had the privilege of working with, and her passionate leadership in all her business undertakings. She hopes that her leadership talents will impact the healthcare business in the future. Recently retired, Melissa enjoys traveling and spending time with her family when she is not consulting.
