James Raymond Hobbs, 64, died, Thursday, July 9, 2020, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hobbs was born April 14, 1956, the son of the late Willie Hobbs and Rachel Hobbs Knight.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers.
He was employed on the #2 boiler at Westrock. James was an avid outdoorsman to include hunting, fishing, and had rabbit and coon dogs as well. He was a former member of the Falling Spring Fire Department and Rescue Squad, and was involved in Bowling and Softball Leagues as well as did karate and was associated with the Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Club. Of more recent he was in a Bass Club with his son Benjamin.
Surviving are his Wife  of 27 years, Sheila Wood Hobbs, of Covington; his Son and Daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Kelley Jo Hobbs, of Covington;   his Daughter and Son-in-law, Jaimie and Nic Lomasney, of Covington; his Step-daughter, Shea Bogan, of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Kensi Lomasney, Emily Hobbs, Larkin Lomasney, Zoey Hobbs and Hatcher Lomasney;  two Step-grandchildren,  Mickael Thrasher  and  Darien Thrasher;  two Sisters, two Brothers, his Mother in law Loralee Wood, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Williams officiating.
The family will receive their friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
