Gary Wyatt “Mick” Kirk, 77, of Merryfield, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, in LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.
Mr. Kirk was born Oct. 30, 1943, in Covington, a son of the late Lafayette and Irene Hensley Kirk.
Mick had retired from Jackson River Enterprises in 1993.
He was active with Special Olympics and had participated in bowling tournaments in the area.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Wanda Kirk of Covington; his sister, Tennant Kirk of Berea, Ky.; nephews, Spenser Gravitts and Kameron Kirk; nieces, Chloe Gravitts and Kim Brown; and a special longtime friend, Jeff Scott.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, W.Va., with Anthony Lowry officiating.
The family suggests that memorial donations in Mick’s name be made to Special Olympics at 3212 Skipwith Road, Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23294-4413.
