Letter to the Editor: No places to eat?

Why is it that Covington has no place to eat? All we have is fast food and pizza. The best thing we have going is the Moose Lodge on the weekends, and if you haven’t been there for the Sunday buffet when they have the pot roast you’re missing out. They put that truck stop in down Low Moor, and instead of bringing one with a restaurant we got stuck with McDonalds and a Subway like we need one more of those.

In case no one has noticed we live in a rural area nestled up against the Allegheny Mountains, where is all the home cooking. We need a place where you can get chicken and dumplings, collard greens, pork chops, country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy,  meatloaf, brown beans, fried potatoes and onions, a slice of country ham, and a slab of cornbread, liver and onions, open-face roast beef sandwich, turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and all the trimmings.

You know the Seniors in the area prefer a plate meal instead of going to Taco Bell unwrapping something out of paper or opening a box of fast food. And where can you get a decent piece of fish?

Don’t you think it’s time we had a restaurant that serves real food, the kind folks in the country were raised on?

And yes I am,
