It is our hope that all families/survivors of MIA/POW Soldiers, all Veterans that can, and you – the very people we are honoring fought for, will attend this day we have set aside to honor, show our appreciation, and thank all that have given so much so we live with our freedoms in a Democratic country.
We will have the Motorcycle Rally with several rally games, antique/muscle/unique car rally, a cook off (please enter – $5.00 entry fee and after judging all will be sold and all monies donated to the local MIA/POW support center), music by the Virginia Magic Band (a veterans family) and bring your own instrument for good old fashioned “jam sessions”, food, vendors, games for children & adults, and more.
Some of the speakers include a Purple Heart Recipient, an Air Force Veteran, some candidates that wish to say thank you, and more. Donations of gifts and some flags have already been made by: Rural King in Beckley, Governor Justice’s office, a wonderful family from Delaware, and The Monroe Watchman.
Monroe County – stand and be heard by your donations. We still need gifts (gas and food gift cards, unique items, hats, subscriptions, etc) and one American flag, and two flags from each military branch. If you can’t attend but would like to honor these brave, loving people please send a donation thru PayPal to sweetspringsresortpark@yahoo.com. Place an MP at the end of your name so we know it is for this event. We have already had 3 so lets make it much more.
These wonderful folks have given so much and some gave their lives for us to be free to say what we want, to own a business, to eat and shop where we want, to have freedom of religion, and so much more. It is time to help those that have helped us.
