Coming off of a 9-0 shutout road victory over the Narrows Green Wave last Tuesday, the Alleghany Mountaineers (3-0) boys tennis team picked up where they left off and improved to 3-0 on the season following a doubleheader sweep at Bassett (0-2) on Friday.
The Mounties won both matches 8-1.
“I’m happy with the wins, but we have to get a lot better as our competition improves. We just have to make progress every day”, said Mounties Head Coach, Seth Davis.
Bassett was able to pull two individual wins out. Lane Bailey was able to sneak past McKinley Goodbar 8-6 in the first match and in the second match Jack Glenn, also was able to get past Goodbar 8-6. Despite going 0-2 in the two solo matches, Goodbar made the Glenn and Bailey earn their victories.
The Mounties will have their first home match this afternoon at Clifton Middle School against the Green Wave at 4:30 p.m.
